Our Mission

Beyond the Common Stethoscope exists to help children break through fear, defy stereotypes, and believe in the power of their own potential.

Born from my own journey of facing fear, finding courage, and stepping into spaces where I didn’t always see myself represented, this initiative is about going beyond what’s expected — or what’s seen as “common.”

Fear is common. Doubt is common. And sometimes, not being able to see someone who looks like you in the profession you dream of is common too. But we’re here to help children believe they can go beyond that.

By visiting schools and speaking directly to young people — especially those from underrepresented backgrounds — Beyond the Common Stethoscope offers representation, encouragement, and real-life proof that their dreams are possible.

Because when a child sees someone who looks like them doing what they dream of doing, something powerful happens: they begin to believe they can do it too.
